Fortem works exclusively in social housing
We predominantly work on repairs and improvements (both inside and outside) to existing properties on behalf of our Clients, Housing Associations and Local Authorities.
We understand that having work done at home can be disruptive, so we take the time to explain our process and keep you updated on progress and any necessary changes, such as needing to leave for parts or emergencies.
Working in the home
We will respect your space, minimise disruption and ensure that the work area is clean and tidy upon completion. We’ll also explain the work we’ve done, for your own understanding.
Some noise, dust and mess are typical when working in homes, but we strive to minimise these issues. We will not leave behind dust or mess and aim to exceed expectations in both how we deliver our service and the quality of our work. The type of work we may undertake on your home is as follows:
-
Repairs
To keep your home functioning correctly
-
Planned works
Such as kitchens and bathrooms
-
Project works
Usually to complete blocks or estates
-
Retrofitting
Including external wall insulation, windows, doors and roof works
-
Compliance works
Such as Gas and Electricity
How does it work?
Depending on the type of works being done to your home, there are a number of ways we will contact you or you us.
Repairs
If you’re having a repair, our planning team will contact you to schedule the work. Before the visit, you’ll receive updates on our arrival time and who to expect. Once our tradesperson arrives, they will introduce themselves to ensure a smooth and professional experience.
Other Building Work
Before work begins, you’ll meet the Site Manager member of their team to discuss timing, scope and details. If you have any concerns, please share them! We can accommodate special situations with advance planning.
Find your landlord
We will have a Branch Office specially set up to work with your landlord. For more details about how to find them and contact them, or to report a repair, click below.
