Fortem Revamps Police Training Facility
Published 7th August 2020
Fortem have completed their first project in Northamptonshire providing the local police force with a brand new training facility. The project was delivered through Scape Group’s Regional Construction framework. Giffard House at Weston Favell was successfully opened on 10 July and will help support Northamptonshire Police’s recruitment drive and will give the newest police officers a smart new training base to learn the ropes. The new bespoke training facility will enable Northamptonshire Police to deliver a range of training to new recruits and existing officers and staff alike, including nearly 200 new officers who will join the ranks as the force expands over the next three years. It replaces two small modular buildings that were earmarked for replacement more than ten years ago. The interior of the building has undergone a complete refurbishment, transforming it into a modern training facility that will enable the Force to deliver a range of training to new recruits and existing officers and staff alike. The large ground floor has provided the ideal space for a dedicated officer safety and fitness training hall, with new changing facilities and a refreshment and welfare area completing the ground floor layout. Managing Director of Fortem, Mick Williamson said: “We’re delighted to have worked with Northamptonshire Police and Scape to create this fantastic training facility that will have a direct impact on the local community.
