Fortem are pleased to announce they’ve been awarded the Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, for their pledge to support Ex-Service personnel.
As a company they’ve pledge to help support Ex-Service personnel into work. As part of this they are working with the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS), which encourages employers to support defence personnel and inspire others to do the same.
After signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2018, they’ve continued to work hard to promote being armed forces-friendly and are open to employing reservists, armed forces veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors and military spouses/partners.
The ERS scheme comprises bronze, silver and gold awards for employers who pledge to support those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces and their families, as well as evidence how they have done this within their business. Now Fortem have met the standard for the bronze award they are aiming to further help defence personnel into work and achieve the silver accolade.
To help achieve this Fortem have partnered with Project RECCE, who aim to become the number one organisation in the UK for Ex-Service veterans wishing to enter employment in the construction industry. Loz Moore, Co-Founder, Project RECCE said, “We at Project RECCE deliver ex-military personnel into the construction industry and therefore work with many organisations who have various awards. However I can vouch that at Fortem, there is a real desire and passion to support service leavers into new careers. They have successfully supported a number into starts with multiple more in the pipeline and I’d expect silver and gold to follow on very soon.”
