Birmingham Children’s Trust Succeed at RHS

Fortem recently sponsored the Birmingham Children’s Trust to allow the children they support to enter the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Malvern show. The show is packed with flowers, food, crafts and family fun for people of all ages and even has an awards ceremony based on different gardens.

The Birmingham Children’s Trust is an organisation that Fortem have supported for the last few years. The Trust looks after children who are in care, some of which have a statement of special needs.

The RHS show gave the children in foster care an opportunity to be creative with a garden space and be recognised for their efforts. Fortem happily sponsored the Children’s Trust allowing them to get the flowers they needed to be entered.

Andy Pepper, Assistant Director for Children in Care at Birmingham Children’s Trust said, “I would like to say a massive thank you to you the Fortem team for fundraising to ensure our young people could have flowers in their garden at this year’s RHS Malvern Show.

This is the first time Birmingham has had an entry at the show and your support ensured that our young people got flowers to brighten up their garden.

Birmingham Children’s Trust for Children in Care is extremely proud of its partnership working with Fortem and I am excited to see upcoming projects like Charles House and Big Heart develop this year. Team work changes lives!”

Fortem attended the awards ceremony along with the Birmingham Children’s Trust team. Melanie Checkley, Community Partner at Fortem said, “It was a lovely afternoon and brilliant to see the children get some recognition for their efforts. For some of the children to hold a paint brush and paint a small object is a huge achievement so this is great news that they won an award at the RHS. We were all so pleased and made up for them.”
