On 2 March, Constructionline hosted their first ‘Meet the Buyer’ event for 2017 in Leeds, attended by a number of contractors and local authorities including Sheffield City Council, City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Mears and Fortem.
Constructionline’s Meet the Buyer (MTB) is an event held across the country, in a number of different locations throughout each year. In 2017, MTB events have already been scheduled in Newcastle, London, Colchester, Cardiff and Southampton.
These events provide businesses with the opportunity to network with procurement professionals from circa 50 top main contractors, public sector authorities and other organisations, as well as circa 1,000 other like-minded businesses from the construction industry. They are open to both members and non-members of Constructionline.
Constructionline’s Marketing Director, Neil Thompson said: "The Leeds Meet the Buyer event has a real range of buyers. It’s a fantastic chance for local companies to create lasting relationships with well established brands and public sector authorities.
This year, we also have a series of fantastic speakers whose vast experience in dealing with contract pitches will provide a vital insight for any suppliers in attendance."
Working with Constructionline
The event in Leeds was the first time Fortem had attended since our relationship with Constructionline, an organisation that are critical to connecting buyers and suppliers, commenced.
Constructionline are the UK’s most connected and progressive provider of procurement and supply chain management services, collecting, verifying and monitoring standard company information through a bespoke question set that is aligned to PAS 91:2013.
Martin Stewart, Fortem’s Supply Chain Manager said: "Being able to instantly check our supplier’s insurance, financial, health & safety, equality and environmental credentials is a huge benefit to us.
We consider Corporate Social Responsibility to be a top priority and as we look to continue expansion into wider areas outside of social housing, it’s essential we’re supported by an expert in supply chain and procurement management. That’s why we’ve appointed Constructionline.
We’re looking forward to our first Meet the Buyer event in Leeds and want to maximize our time speaking to local SMEs and future working partners."
