As a collaborative contractor, Fortem have demonstrated a successful working partnership with Chesterfield Borough Council for over six years. Since 2017, Fortem have delivered a variety of works totalling over £60m for Chesterfield Borough Council including Independent Living Refurbishment & Remodelling, Low Rise Block Communal Area Refurbishments, Modular Housing, Traditional New Build Housing, Estate Regenerations & Planned Elemental Upgrades.
In 2023, Fortem was appointed to deliver an extensive refurbishment programme at Loundsley Green. The programme was divided into two phases: the first phase included 7 blocks, and the second phase focused on 5 blocks.
Scope of works
The first phase has now been completed. The works included asbestos removal both internally and externally, installation of new cladding and rendering, and replacement of windows. New fire doors and door entry systems were installed at the entrances of the blocks, along with new internal fire doors.
In the communal areas, new flooring was laid, new handrails were installed, and the spaces were finished with internal decorating.
To ensure an aesthetically pleasing finish, the grounds were landscaped, completing the transformation.
Fortem have done a fantastic job at transforming the appearance of the flats. Everything was explained very well and I was kept informed. Thank you everyone.
