Client: Acivico & The Education and Skills Infrastructure
Our planned works team in Birmingham have been completing a variety of work including roofing replacement and minor building repairs on schools throughout the city.
Key Successes
- Prior to work commencing, our team held an assembly for the pupils at the school. This is used to cover basic health & safety, construction awareness and is a chance for the students to ask any questions
- The schools largely remain in operation which means that hundreds of children and teenagers are in close proximity to the works. As a result, extra precautions are taken to prevent any incidents and injuries. Some of the equipment our team use include brick guards which are attached to the edge of the scaffolding to prevent any large pieces of debris such as brick or tiles dropping on to the floor
- Examples of sections that scored full marks on our client feedback form, include: quality of our workmanship on site, value for money, project management, level of tidiness, safe working practices and conditions
Works include:
The scope of work varies across each project. Our live school, Storywood primary, has limited roofing work whereas the Ladypool School project included roofing work as well as internal repairs, window replacements and redecoration of some classrooms.
"The management team made this project an easily completed task. All staff and operatives worked in a professional manner, respecting the school working environment. Attitude to this schools needs and day to day working were exemplary." Keith Bowen, Site Manager from Ladypool School
