Client: London Borough of Havering
We installed external wall insulation to non-traditional properties owned by the council, following the removal of inefficient existing external wall insulation. The 324 properties were of various non-traditional construction types including Wates, Orlit (type 2), Cornish (type 1 & 2) and Wimpey No-Fines.
Key Successes
- We formed a collaborative relationship with the council and our system designer in order to agree the most suitable solution and system design for each property following the structural survey.
- Harold Hill has the highest youth unemployment rate in Havering and therefore we worked with local colleges and offered work experience opportunities to students. We employed two local students for our four week apprentice programme. Throughout the scheme we supported them in securing their CSCS cards and helped them secure employment with our subcontractor partners
- The success of this project led to a high-profile £2.5m estate regeneration on the Hill Rise estate in Hornchurch
